1. Where every price comes from

Each price on RenewPings is taken from the provider's own published pricing — its pricing pages and the total shown at its checkout — cross-checked against established independent price trackers. We quote the checkout total, including the fees a registrar adds there, not the headline list price. Example: Spaceship advertises a $9.98 .com renewal, but a $0.20 ICANN fee is added at checkout, so our tables show the honest figure — $10.18 — with the breakdown stated wherever the price appears. If a price cannot be verified, it does not go in the table.

2. One dated price list runs the whole site

All prices live in a single central price list, stamped with the date they were checked — currently 24 October 2026. The comparison table, price ticker, homepage figures and calculator all calculate from that same list, so when a price changes, it changes everywhere at once, under the new check date. There is no automated price feed and there are no guessed numbers: prices are re-checked by hand on a weekly-to-monthly cycle.

3. How rankings are decided

Rankings are by .com renewal total, cheapest first. Spaceship is labelled “Best price” because its $10.18 total is the lowest checkout total we track. Cloudflare is labelled “At-cost” only — $10.44 is the exact wholesale cost ($10.26 to Verisign + $0.18 ICANN fee), with zero markup. It is not a hard floor: Spaceship, Namecheap's budget brand, sells below it as a subsidised loss-leader price. Always verify the final total at checkout before paying.

4. What we never do

We never publish a coupon we have not verified, never call a provider an official partner or affiliate unless it actually is one (currently none is), never hide a fee in a headline price, and never let advertising or a future affiliate relationship change a ranking. No provider has paid for a word of our reviews.

Correction log

24 October 2026: Spaceship .com renewal corrected from the $9.98 list price to the $10.18 total checkout price ($9.98 list + $0.20 ICANN fee). All site figures were recalculated from the corrected total.
